GERMAN SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. whipping cream
2 c. sugar
3 lg. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. baking soda (add to cream)
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
5 1/2 c. flour

Cream together butter, cream (with baking soda), sugar, vanilla and lemon extract. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until fluffy.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture 1 cup at a time. Refrigerate in covered bowl 4-5 hours. Roll dough out on floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. Work with small amounts of dough at a time. Be careful not to add too much flour. Keep dough cold. Bake at 400 degrees for 8- 10 minutes. Cookies will be slightly browned around the edges.
