APPLE-HONEY CRISP | |
4 c. sliced apples 1/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 c. honey 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. walnuts or pecans 1/4 c. butter Spread sliced apples in a shallow baking dish, sprinkle with sugar and lemon juice, and pour honey over all. Into a bowl put the flour, brown sugar, salt and nuts. Work in the butter as for biscuits, making a crumbly mixture. Spread crumbs evenly over the apples and bake. Crust should be brown. Serve warm with plain cream or with whipped topping, or whipped cream topped with a dash of cinnamon. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 375 degrees. Serves 4. |
