1 c. butter
5 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sweet milk
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Mix baking powder and flour. Add alternately with milk to cream, sugar and egg mixture. Slowly fold in whipped egg whites. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350 to 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

FILLING:

1 can crushed pineapple
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. brown sugar

Cook until thick. Spread between the 2 layers of cake.

ICING:

1 egg white
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. water
1 tbsp. Karo syrup
