FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
2 c. nuts
1/2 lb. cherries
6 slices pineapple
1/2 lb. mixed fruit
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour (measure before sifting)
2 eggs
1/4 lb. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, flour, salt and vanilla. Grease a pan 13x14x2 inch and put nuts on bottom of pan. Drop batter with spoon over nuts and press out. Spread with very wet hands. Lightly press cut fruit on top. Bake at 300 degrees for one hour. Let cool before cutting into squares.
