DUTCH KITCHEN COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 egg yolk
1 bag chocolate chips

Cream the brown sugar and the butter in a large mixing bowl. Add the vanilla, egg yolk, and flour and mix well. Bake in an ungreased jelly roll pan at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

When the cookies begin to brown on top, remove them from the oven and sprinkle on the chocolate chips and return the pan to the oven for 3 minutes. When the chips have begun to melt, remove the pan and spread the chocolate evenly over the top of the cookies. Sprinkle the walnuts on top and allow 20-30 minutes to cool before you cut the cookies into squares.
