DUTCH SUGAR COOKIES 
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cubes real butter
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until creamy. Add remaining ingredients. Roll into balls (approximately 1 tablespoon of dough). Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten cookie ball gently with glass dipped in sugar. Cook about 10-15 minutes at 300 degrees. Do not overbake. These cookies will be light and should not be browned. They melt in your mouth.
