DUTCH SUGAR COOKIES 
2 sticks butter, softened
1 c. white sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Add sugar to soften butter. Add flour a little at a time. Add remaining ingredients mixing well. Place on cookie sheet, 1 teaspoon of dough at a time. Then pat with fork (dipped in water to prevent sticking). Bake at 375 degrees for 11 minutes. Makes 60 cookies.
