Has anyone had a problem with the chocolate not hardening appropriately after mixing and placing on wax paper? I have made this before and it was successful. This time the chocolate will not bind the mix. I live in the south - could it be the humidity? Should I put it in the fridge? Anyone have thoughts?

A neighbor made this mix using Angostura bitters. Very tasy either way.

I made this but used almond bark instead of the chocolate and it was a winner with my kids. Think I may add dried cranberries the next time I make it.

One thing I would add is to add the M&Ms after the white chocolate starts to cool because otherwise they melt

We make this mix to give as gifts at Christmas. They all love it. But it has to be cold with snow outside. We make the mix, then spread it about 1/2 - 3/4 inch deep on aluminum foil spread over cookie baking pans and spread some more M&M's over the top. We then carry this hot, soft mix outside and set it on our snow covered picnic table to cool for about 20 minutes. It can not be raining or snowing and the wind must be calm. Works like a charm! It is always hard and brittle when we bring it back inside and break it up into small pieces for packaging.

I switch the m/m's with reeses pieces and then put the whole thing in a large bag and shook white powdered sugar over it all to make it not so sticky, my daughter and several others really liked this way better.
