FRESH PEACH CAKE 
4 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. sliced peaches (peeled or unpeeled)
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
4 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Melt butter in 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix 3 tablespoons brown sugar with 3 tablespoons sugar; sprinkle over melted butter. Arrange peach slices over this. Sift dry ingredients into bowl. Add shortening and half of the milk. Beat for 2 minutes. Add remaining milk, vanilla and eggs. Mix well and beat for 2 minutes. Pour over arranged peaches. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Invert pan while warm.
