ORIENTAL RICE 
1 c. brown rice
2 cans beef consomme
2 cans water
1 can water chestnuts, sliced thin
Bamboo shoots
2 1/2 to 3 tbsp. curry powder
1 lg. green pepper, sliced
1 can unsweetened, drained pineapple
1/3 c. raisins
Handful shredded coconut
1 med. onion

Saute onion. Add rice, saute with onion. Add water chestnuts and bamboo shoots. Saute. Add beef consomme and water. Slice green pepper. Add raisins, coconut and pineapple. Add 2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons curry powder. Cover and cook for 1 hour on medium heat. After 45 minutes, add mushrooms. Cook for remaining 15 minutes until water is absorbed.
