CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. oil
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan bring to a boil butter, oil, cocoa, and water. Sift together flour and sugar. Pour chocolate sauce over dry ingredients and mix well. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Pour into a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 lb. confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Bring to a boil butter and cocoa. Remove from heat; add remaining ingredients adding nuts last. Spread immediately while still hot.

I received this recipe in 1968 from an Italian woman who said it had been in her family for many years. Her recipe is exactly the same as this one, EXCEPT it includes 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon in the cake batter. It's a wonderful cake!
