3 c. cake flour
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
2/3 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder (even)
4 lg. eggs

Grease four nine inch pans. Mix sugar, butter and flour together. In mixing, add half milk; beat. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg. Add baking powder. Last add remaining milk and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into cake pans and bake at 350 degrees until cake is done. Ice with chocolate icing.
