MRS. HENDERSON'S GRANOLA | |
Dry Ingredients: 4 cups stone ground oats 1 cup almonds 1 cup sunflower seeds 1 cup sesame seeds 1 cup coconut 1/2 cup wheat germ 1/2 cup lecithin 1/2 cup soy flour 1/2 cup powdered milk Coating: 1/4 cup water 3/4 cup peanut or canola oil 1/2 cup honey 1/2 cup light brown sugar Optional: cashews pecans raisins dates dried apricots dried pineapple dried cranberries Place dry ingredients in a large bowl and toss until well mixed. Place coating ingredients in a medium sauce pan on stove top and over medium heat cook until sugar dissolves. Pour liquid over the dry ingredients and toss until well coated. Spray cooking spray on a large cookie sheet and dump mixture on the pan, spreading evenly. Bake at 250°F for 2 hours, turning every 30 minutes. Note: If optional ingredients are used, dry ingredients like nuts should be added in the beginning. Dried fruit should be added and mixed in the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
