GRANDMA WESTERMEYER'S KRUMMEL
CAKE
 
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. shortening
2 eggs (optional)
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
dash of salt

Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and shortening. Reserve one cup of mixture for crumb topping. Add eggs, milk, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Pour into 2 nine inch round cake pans. Sprinkle crumb mixture on top.

Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until knife or toothpick comes out clean.
