BUTTER PECAN CHEWS 
3/4 c. butter
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 c. chopped nuts
3 egg whites, beaten
Confectioners' sugar
3/4 c. shredded coconut

Cream butter, brown sugar and blend in flour. Put in bottom of 8 x 12 inch greased pan. Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes. Add brown sugar to beaten egg yolks. Add nuts and coconut. Stir in stiffly beaten egg whites and spread over first mixture. Return to oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Dust with confectioners' sugar and cut. Makes 2 dozen 2 inch squares.
