1 c. butter, creamed
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 tbsp. hot water
3 c. sifted flour
1 lg. tbsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate bits

Combine sugar and eggs; beat until smooth. Add melted butter, salt and vanilla; mix well. Add soda, then flour, nuts and chocolate. Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake until light brown, do not over bake. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
