FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. milk
3 or 4 onions, thickly sliced
1 c. all-purpose flour

Combine milks and soak onions in milk mixture. Dip into flour, shake off excess. Re-dip into milk and then in flour again, shake. Fry in deep fat. 4 to 6 servings.

Wonder if you added a little cornmeal to the flour - before dipping... would it help create an even more crispy onion ring?
