APPLE GLAZED HOLIDAY HAM
1 (4 to 5 lb.) salt cured country ham (Petite)
1 small handful of whole cloves
1 cup applesauce (I use unsweetened)
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon (optional)

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Open the ham package, and rinse the curing salt off. Line a baking pan with foil, please make sure the foil is big enough to cover your ham, or you can use a turkey style baking bag. Score the top or side of your ham, about 1/4-inch deep, about 1/4-inch apart from corner to corner. Turn and score the other direction so you have little squares along it. At each point of the squares press a clove into it.

In a small bowl stir the cup of applesauce and brown sugar (and the cinnamon if you want it, I like it this way but my husband doesn't. You decide :)) together.

You can pour or use a spoon but cover your ham on top and the sides.

Bring sides of foil together to loosely cover ham. Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes covered. Open the foil and rotate baking dish. Continue to bake uncovered so the glaze can crystallize and till meat thermometer reads 180°F.

Note: With pork always be sure to cook it thoroughly, to avoid any unwanted side affects.
