RAISIN FILLED COOKIES 
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
3 tbsp. milk
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar (granulated)
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in
1 tbsp. water

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, soda and vanilla. Add milk then flour. Roll out, cut into round pieces. Put filling in middle of one an put top on and press edges together. Prick with fork to let steam out. Bake at 350 degrees 12 to 15 minutes.

FILLING:

1 c. raisins
1 c. water
1 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. flour

Cook until raisins are done. Remove from heat, add 1 cup walnuts. Stir, let cool before using.
