3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening

Mix together. Stir in 1/2 cup milk. Sift together and stir in 1 1/2 cup flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Spread batter in greased and floured 9-inch square pan.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. flour
1/4 c. soft butter

Mix together. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-35 minutes.
