GLAZED ORANGE DESSERT CAKE 
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 oz. pkg. orange Jello
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. fresh orange juice
1/2 c. water

Cream together the sugar, Jello, grated orange rind, shortening and eggs. Spoon or pour flour into measuring cup, level off, pour on wax paper or plate or into a bowl. Add baking powder and soda and salt.

Stir well to blend. Add these blended dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with combined orange juice and water. Pour into well greased 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.

As soon as you take cake out of the oven, poke holes evenly all over the cake (with skewer or something similar) then pour hot orange glaze over cake immediately.

ORANGE GLAZE:

2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. orange rind, grated
1/2 c. fresh orange juice

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly.
