G'MA WILSON'S SUGAR COOKIES | |
1 c. white sugar 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. butter 2 eggs 1/2 c. milk 4 c. flour (stir before measuring) 6 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. vanilla Cream butter and sugar, add milk slowly and gradually to sugar mixture. Then add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients in several additions. Chill dough 1 hour before rolling out. Roll on floured cloth (tea towel). Bake at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes for medium thick cookies, more for thicker ones, on a greased cookie sheet. Don't over bake. Remove from oven before they are real done as they are still cooking on the hot pan while cooling. POWDERED SUGAR ICING: 1/3 c. butter 1/4 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Powdered sugar Heat butter, milk and vanilla in small pan. Remove when real hot. Then add powdered sugar until of right consistency, beating with a spoon. Add milk if it gets too thick. |
