Try it this way:
Large electric skillet.
- Brown patties on both sides.
- Saute 1/2 c. sliced celery
- Return patties to pan. She gets them all in in staggered rows.
- Cover with tomato juice.
Simmer on low for about 30-40 minutes.
The patties absorb most of the tomato juice. You'll be left with thick red gravy and plump patties. Awesome stuff!
You can also make killer spaghetti and meatballs with the patty recipe. People fight over them. Meat eaters, who have no idea its a vegetarian dish.
- Crop by small spoonfuls (about the size of a whole walnut in the shell) into deep fryer. Brown nicely.
- Pour in a couple jars of Prego Traditional. Add sauted onions and mushrooms if you like.
- Simmer 45-60 mins on low heat. Meatballs will swell up.
Totally to die for meatballs. Just make sure you have enough sauce in there for your pasta. She serves them without noodles for big gatherings too.
