FIRE - ALARM CHILI | |
This is a favorite of my son, a fireman in Connecticut. Serves 10. 2 tbsp. butter 2 lb. ground beef Salt and pepper to taste 4 dashes Worcestershire sauce 4 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. sugar 2 onions, chopped 2 (No. 2) cans tomatoes 2 (No. 300) cans beans (your choice) Melt the butter in a large skillet. Crumble and brown the beef, adding salt and pepper to taste. Skim off excess fat. Add Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, sugar and onions and continue cooking until the onions are almost done. Chop the tomatoes and add them along with the beans. Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower heat to simmer for about 1 hour before serving. |
