MEXICAN STYLE STEAK 
2 lb. round steak 1/2" thick (tenderized)
3 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. salad oil
1 recipe salsa (recipe follows)
1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms (drained & broiled)

Cut steak into serving pieces. Combine flour, salt and a dash of pepper. Dredge meat in flour mixture. Brown meat in hot oil in skillet. Place meat in baking dish, cover with 1/2 of salsa mix and cover. Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours. Add mushrooms; bake 10 minutes more. Skim off excess fat. Serve over hot rice with remaining hot salsa sauce.

SALSA SAUCE:

1/4 c. salad oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 c. chopped onion
1 lg. can solid pack whole tomatoes, mashed
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, chopped
1 tsp. salt

Heat oil until hot. Saute onions and garlic. Add chilies and tomatoes. Simmer 30 minutes.
