JAPANESE FRIED RICE 
6 strips bacon
1 onion
1 green pepper
1 garlic bulb
2 c. enriched rice
3/4 stick butter
Soy sauce

Bring rice, 1 teaspoon butter, 4 cups water to boil. Stir and turn down heat; cover. Cut up onion, garlic, pepper, and bacon. Place bacon and garlic in skillet; heat (medium heat). Uncover rice, turn off heat under rice.

Cook garlic and bacon until brown. Add onions and pepper; cook until brown and soft. Turn heat to low. Add rest of butter; mix all together. Add rice to mixture; stir together. Add soy sauce until rice is light brown when mixed.
