JAPANESE STYLE FRIED RICE | |
2 slices bacon 1/3-1/4 lb. cooked chicken, meat or shrimp 3-4 mushrooms, sliced thin 1 1/2 - 3 c. long sticky grain rice, cooked 1 egg, raw 2-3 green onions, diced or chopped in 1/4" pieces, including stalk 1 clove garlic, crushed Soy sauce, black pepper & monosodium glutamate (opt.) Rice may be cooked ahead and frozen in freeze wrap until needed. Slice bacon into approximately 1/2" pieces. Fry until crisp. Leave in pan along with drippings. Shred chicken, meat or shrimp into 1/2" pieces. Cut mushrooms in 1/8" to 1/4" pieces. Combine chicken, meat or shrimp, mushrooms and put in pan with bacon. Stir fry for about 2 minutes. Add cooked rice. Rice can be microwaved to warm. Add 1 raw egg. Dash pepper, and dash of monosodium glutamate (if used). Two to three tablespoons soy sauce (to slightly tint rice). Add green onion and garlic. Mix ingredients well and stir fry for a maximum of 4 minutes. Serves 3 to 4. |
