1 qt. milk
1 scant c. sugar
6 egg yolks
1 piece salt

Beat eggs thoroughly and add sugar. Beat again, then add milk and salt. I put this in a heavy pot and stir constantly until it coats the spoon. Never let it come to boiling point. Chill before serving.
