PEANUT BRITTLE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
1/2 c. water
Boil to soft ball 230. Grease cookie sheet with 1 stick of butter and add
rest of stick and 2 c. raw peanuts. Cook to 300 stirring constantly. Remove
from fire and add 2 tsp. baking soda and 2 tsp. vanilla and stir until just fluffy.Pour at once on greased cookie sheet. Make on clear day.

(For years Maudine made this on Christmas Eve. She also made brittle with pecans.)
