GINGER-MOLASSES COOKIES | |
The recipe calls for 2 to 6 cups flour, depending on how flat or puffy you like the cookies. 2 to 6 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. ground ginger 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 c. sugar 1 c. butter, softened 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. molasses 1 c. sour milk Mix flour, salt, spices. Blend in sugar and butter. Mix baking soda into molasses and blend. Stir both mixtures together. Heat sour milk in a pan until hot, but don't let it simmer. Combine with flour molasses mixture and stir to combine thoroughly. Cool. Roll out, if you used enough flour, or simply drop batter by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. 4 dozen. |
