CHOW MEIN | |
1 can bean sprouts 1 c. chopped celery 1 c. chopped onion 1 1/2 c. chopped meats 3 tbsp. butter 1 c. boiling water OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: 4 tbsp. chopped pimento 1/2 sm. green pepper 1/4 c. slivered almonds 1 sm. can water chestnuts THICKENING: 1/3 c. cold water 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. sugar 1 tbsp. soy sauce Melt butter in medium size pan. Saute onion and meat. Add celery and boiling water. Add bean sprouts and thickening. Stir until thickened. Serve over Chinese show mein noodles with condiments of soy sauce and vinegar if you like it. |
