1 pkg. (2 loaves) Brown and Serve French bread 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/8 tsp. pepper 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. oregano 1 1/2 tsp. chopped chives 1/4 c. Romano cheese 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 6 (1 oz.) slices mozzarella cheese Cut bread loaves in half, lengthwise. Combine cooked, ground beef, chives, pepper, salt, oregano, cheese and tomato paste. Spread 1/4 mixture on cut sides of loaf. Place loaves meat side up on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Top loaves with cheese, 3 slices on each. Broil until cheese starts to soften about 2 minutes. Makes 16 servings. |
