FRIENDSHIP CAKE 
Use large glass (gallon) jar. Do not close tight. Make starter before mixing cake.

CAKE RECIPE:

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
2/3 c. oil
4 eggs
1 pkg. Jello instant vanilla pudding

Mix the above well, add:

1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. fruit

Mix well, bake in Bunt pan for 1 hour at 325 degrees or until done.

STARTER FOR FRIENDSHIP CAKE:

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. (29 oz.) sliced peaches and juice

Stir for 10 days, then add:

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks with juice

Stir once a day for 10 days, then add:

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. (29 oz.) can fruit cocktail with juice

Add:

1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries with juice

Stir once a day for 10 days. Then drain fruit, save juice. Use fruit in cakes. Pass on to friends 1 1/2 cups starter with recipe.
