FRIENDSHIP CAKE 
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. starter
1 lg. can peaches

Mix together in large 1-gallon container and stir every day. Do not put lid on tightly.

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. can chunk pineapple and juice

Add to first mixture and stir every day, keeping cover loose.

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. can fruit cocktail and juice
1 lg. jar maraschino cherries and juice

Add and stir every day, keeping cover loose.

Drain liquid from fruit and save. Divide fruit into thirds. Makes 3 cakes (divide the juice into 1 1/2 cup amounts and place in tight container and give to friends with a copy of the recipe and instructions as soon as possible.)

HINTS:

Keep fruit at room temperature. Don't seal container tightly. Cake can be frozen, but juice cannot.

FRIENDSHIP CAKE RECIPE:

1 yellow cake mix
1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
4 eggs
1/3 of the fruit
1 box instant pudding (vanilla or pineapple)
2/3 c. oil

Mix all together, fold in fruit, bake in greased and floured bundt pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes (check with toothpick). Starter juice may be kept up to 20 days before starting a new batch of fruit.
