BEEF STROGANOFF 
1 lb. round steak, cut in 3/4 inch cubes
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. chopped onions
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can consomme
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. sour cream

Combine flour and seasonings; roll meat in mixture. Melt fat and brown meat. Add onions, minced garlic and mushrooms and saute until tender. Add consomme and Worcestershire sauce.

When boiling, turn to simmer, cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Add sour cream and heat at low simmer (do not boil). Serve over noodles or rice. Serves 4.
