FRANKFURTER AND CORN CHOWDER 
1 med. onion, chopped
1 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. butter
2 c. peeled and diced potatoes
2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1 lb. frankfurters, sliced
1/2 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
2 c. corn, fresh, frozen or canned (drained)
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. cold milk
1 1/2 c. hot milk
1/2 c. cooked peas

Saute onion and celery in butter. Add potatoes, water, salt, seasonings and frankfurters. Cover and simmer until potatoes are almost tender. Add corn and simmer 5 minutes. Blend flour and cold milk into smooth paste.

Add a little of vegetable liquid to this, then stir back into vegetable, frankfurter mixture. Simmer 5 minutes. Add hot milk, blend all together, garnish with peas.

Good with cornbread and applesauce.
