FRANKFURTER APPETIZERS 
1 egg
1 tbsp. melted butter
3/4 c. sifted flour
Dash cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 - 1 lb. frankfurters, cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
Bread crumbs
Deep fat for frying

Frying time: 3 minutes.

In a bowl, beat together the egg, milk, butter, dry mustard and flour. Add seasonings and baking powder; blend well. Dip frankfurter pieces into batter then roll in bread crumbs. Repeat this procedure once more.

In a deep kettle, heat fat for deep frying to 350 degrees; add a few pieces of frankfurter at a time and cook until golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve on fancy toothpicks.
