BANANA SPLIT DESSERT 
12 oz. pkg. vanilla wafers
1 c. soft butter
8 oz. cream cheese
2 c. powdered sugar
20 oz. can crushed pineapple
1/2 c. chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 lg. bananas
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 pt. Cool Whip
1/2 c. chopped pecans
3 oz. jar maraschino cherries (chopped)

Crush vanilla wafers and mix with 1/2 cup softened butter. Press into a 9x13 pan.

Drain pineapple well. Blend 1/4 cup butter and cream cheese. Mix in 1 cup crushed pineapple. Spread over crust.

Combine remaining 1/4 cup butter, powdered sugar, chocolate chips and evaporated milk in a saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly until thick and smooth. Cool.

Slice bananas 1/2 inch thick and mix in lemon juice. Drain well. Arrange over pineapple/cream cheese mixture.

Top with cooled chocolate sauce, spread Cool Whip over all. Sprinkle with remaining pineapple, pecans and cherries. Chill thoroughly.
