CRISP FRIED CHICKEN 
1 c. yellow cornmeal
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. water
1 egg, beaten
1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut up
Wesson oil

Combine dry ingredients in a plastic bag.

In mixing bowl combine water and beaten egg. Dip chicken in egg mixture, shake in bag of cornmeal mixture, coating well.

Heat about 2 inches of oil in large pan to 375. Add chicken pieces skin side down. Fry about 45 minutes or until tender and golden brown.
