QUICK SNACK CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 c. oil
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. chopped dates
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first 8 ingredients. Set aside 1 cup of mixture for topping. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle topping on batter. Bake 30 minutes. You may sprinkle 1/2 cup walnuts over topping before baking, if you wish.
