3 c. all-purpose flour
3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
5 eggs
3 tbsp. Crisco
1 c. sweet milk
1 tbsp. vanilla flavoring
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Cream sugar and butter and Crisco, add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Add vanilla and pour into greased and floured tube cake pan. Cook in 325 degree oven for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Cool for about 10 minutes before turning over onto plate. Best eating when still warm or cool completely and put favorite icing on cake.
