RUBY'S COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. vegetable oil
3 c. sugar
5 lg. eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla flavoring
1 c. sweet milk
4 c. plain, sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Grease and flour 10 inch tube pan. Have ingredients at room temperature.

Mix butter, oil and sugar until light and creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Mix well after each. Add flavoring. Mix. Add baking powder to sifted flour. Add flour alternately with milk to batter, beginning and ending with flour. Pour in prepared pan. Place in cold oven. Bake at 325 degrees about 1 1/2 hours (check it). Cool cake 10 minutes. Remove from pan and store in cake keeper.
