2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco or other shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter and Crisco together until soft. Add sugar and continue beating. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour, sifted with baking powder, alternately with milk. Add vanilla and lemon flavorings.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Start in cold oven. DO NOT OPEN OVEN!
