DEEP FRIED CINNAMON PUFFS | |
2 1/2 C all purpose flour 1 pkg instant dry yeast 1/4 C sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 C milk 1/3 C water 1/4 C butter 2 eggs oil to fry 1/2 C sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon to coat puffs In large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt and cinnamon. Mix well. In saucepan, heat milk, water and butter until warm (120-130°F). Butter does not need to melt. Add to flour mixture, add eggs and beat at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Cover, let rise in warm oven (turn oven on lowest setting for one minute, turn off) for 20 minutes. Heat oil to 400°F, MAKE SURE OIL IS HOT. Drop batter by tablespoon into oil, fry until golden grown. Drain on paper towels. Combine sugar and cinnamon, roll warm puffs in mixture. |
