DUTCH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 c. sliced apples
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. melted butter

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar into bowl. Cut in shortening. Beat milk and egg; add to dry ingredients, stir just until blended. Pour into greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Top with apples. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Drizzle butter over all. Bake 30-35 minutes or until done.
