ANN'S STRAWBERRY JAM BREAD | |
3 c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. softened butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. lemon juice 1 c. strawberry jam 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 c. chopped nuts Combine flour, salt, cream of tartar and soda. Combine sugar, butter, vanilla and lemon juice in large bowl until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat. Mix jam and buttermilk. Add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients. Stir in nuts. Bake 55 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 2 large loaves or 5-7 mini loaves. Adjust cooking time for small loaves. |
