APPLESAUCE DOUGHNUTS 
4 c. buttermilk biscuit mix
2/3 c. applesauce
1/2 c. golden raisins, chopped
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
Nutmeg-sugar (below)

In large bowl, stir all ingredients except nutmeg-sugar until well mixed. Turn dough onto well floured surface and knead about 10 times until smooth. With floured rolling pin, roll dough 1/4" thick. With floured doughnut cutter, cut dough into rings. Re-roll scraps and repeat, making more rings. Fry rings until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels. Shake doughnuts, a few at a time, in nutmeg-sugar. Nutmeg-sugar: In small paper bag, combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon nutmeg.
