GRANDMOM ELSIE BRYDEN'S LIGHT
BREAD
 
2 1/2 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
3 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. Crisco
6 c. flour

In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt, sugar, and shortening. Then add flour, one cup at a time until ball of dough is formed. Turn dough out on floured surface. Knead dough until smooth and elastic, approximately 15 minutes.

Turn dough into greased bowl. Flip dough over in bowl. Cover with cloth and let raise in warm area until doubled. Punch dough down. Make up rolls and pat into greased pans. Let raise again in warm area until doubled. Then bake at 350 degrees until brown.
