1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
4 c. sliced apples
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and beat. Add apples. Fold in dry ingredients and nuts. Spread in a greased 9x13-inch pan and bake 35-40 minutes at 350°F.

Sauce:

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cream

Mix and bring to rolling boil. Serve hot on sliced brownies.
