APPLE BROWNIES
2/3 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped apples (about 2 med.)

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir well. Stir in apples and nuts. Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

NOTE: When cooled, you may want to sprinkle powdered sugar over top with a flour sifter.

(John adores these! They are super moist and chewy. We prefer them to chocolate brownies by far.)

Just made these for a holiday party-- & they are deliciously wonderful--OMG!!!!! I wasn't convinced I would like them, but needed to make something non chocolate for the holidays.. & I am pleasantly surprised at how tasty they are!!! YUMM!!! I omitted the nuts & instead added dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, cherries etc) and made them into mini brownie bites as well as regular bars & both turned out great!! Will definitely make again!!! I know these will be a big hit!

We omitted the nuts but added one cup of Hershey's cinnamon chips. WOW were they good, took a pan to work. Empty pan came back!

I made this last night and love it! I will definitely make it again and save the recipe. The next time I make it I am going to add a little bit of coconut or golden raisins. Also if you want to add more to it, I think that a Caramel Icing would be delicious on it. It was very moist, quick and easy to make!
